Austin Collie's Agent Downplays Speculation Indianapolis Colts' Wide Receiver Has Concussion

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Austin Collie left Sunday night's game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers with concussion-like symptoms, but his agent Don Yee doesn't want anyone assuming that the injury is, indeed, a concussion.

Yee told Adam Schefter that Collie is "going through the normal protocol," and that "we just don't know yet" whether or not the Colts' WR suffered a concussion after being hit by Steelers' cornerback Ike Taylor. It's easy to understand why the "C"-word is being thrown around so loosely in this instance, as Collie suffered multiple concussions in 2010.

Collie, 26, was extremely productive during his first season and a half in the NFL. He caught 60 passes for 676 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, then followed that up with 58 catches for 649 yards and eight scores in 2010, despite missing seven games due to the aforementioned head injuries.

Austin Collie Injury: Preseason In Doubt For Colts WR

Indianapolis Colts' wide receiver Austin Collie was forced to leave the game on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor hit Collie, who was attempting to catch a pass from rookie quarterback Andrew Luck.

Collie later wobbled to the sideline where he was taken to the locker room and evaluated for concussion symptoms, according to an IndyStar.com report:

In 2010, Collie suffered two concussions that ended his second season. He continues to tell me the only time he thinks about head trauma is when the media asks him about it, but Sunday only will fuel the fire and the concern over Collie's long-term well being.

With the NFL taking a more active approach toward concussions and head injuries, Collie could very well be lost for the remainder of the Colts' preseason.

Austin Collie Injury: Colts WR Has Concussion

Austin Collie has exited the Steelers and Colts game for good after reporting concussion symptoms from a hit sustained in the first quarter.

Andrew Luck threw a pass to Collie through the middle and Collie took a nasty forearm to the helmet from Steeler's linebacker Larry Foote.

Collie was helped off the field and reportedly complained to trainers that something was off. He was taken to the locker room and reported concussion like symptoms.

This isn't Collie's first time getting his skulled rattled. In 2010 he sustained two concussions within a seven-week period, the second of which ended his 2010 season.

Collie had three receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown so far this preseason.
