The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots will each have several inactive players for Monday night's preseason game at Gillette Stadium.
Earlier on Monday, word got out that the Patriots would sit a host of starters, including quarterback Tom Brady and Brandon Lloyd. One reason for resting so many starters could be because the Patriots' preseason schedule involves playing three games in 10 days, including Friday night's game in Tampa Bay. The Eagles had a few injuries which were already known and those players were also ruled out before the game.
Here are the Eagles' inactives due to injury:
Jason Babin, DE (calf)
Riley Cooper, WR (collarbone)
Mike Kafka, QB (hand)
Casey Matthews, LB (ankle)
Here are the Patriots' inactives:
Tom Brady, QB
Aaron Hernandez, TE
Brandon Lloyd, WR
Logan Mankins, G
Jerod Mayo, LB
Wes Welker, WR
