Michael Vick Injury: Eagles QB Goes Down, Heads To Locker Room For X-Rays

Stay connected with SB Nation

Michael Vick was injured in the middle of the first quarter during the Eagles Monday Night Football game against the Patriots. As he dropped back to go deep off of playaction, Vick took a big shot to the midsection from Patriots rusher Jermaine Cunningham. The ball fluttered deep down the field as Vick was planted on the Gillette Stadium turf. It first appeared to be an injury to the ribs. An animated gif of the hit that injured him:

The Eagles quarterback was slow to get up at first, hobbling back to the huddle and grabbing his stomach. But a moment later, he went down to one knee and Andy Reid was forced to call a timeout. Nick Foles came in to replace him as he went to the locker room for further examination and x-rays.
