Free agent defensive end Andre Carter is drawing interest from several NFL teams.
The Oakland Raiders worked out free agent pass rusher Andre Carter on Tuesday, the National Football Post reported.
Carter, 33, played for the New England Patriots last season. He and Mark Anderson tied for the team lead with 10 sacks apiece. A torn quad ended his season after just 14 games.
Prior to joining the Patriots, Carter spent five seasons with the Washington Redskins, following five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He can play both defensive end and outside linebacker. Oakland is in need of pass rushing help, and could plug the 11-year veteran into the rotation for their 3-4 defense.
The St. Louis Rams also have a visit scheduled with Carter. He will be in St. Louis on Wednesday, a team official told SB Nation.
Carter's recovery from his quad injury will be key. If he can assure teams that he is at 100 percent again, he could have several offers for his services.
