The former sixth-round pick is set to be the Titans No. 1 cornerback in 2012.
With Cortland Finnegan gone, Jason McCourty is now the No. 1 cornerback for the Tennessee Titans. On Thursday, the team made sure that he was paid like one too, offering him up an extension reportedly worth $43 million over five years. The extension includes $20 in guaranteed money and bonuses, according to the report by Adam Schefter.
McCourty was set to make $1.62 million in 2012. He was entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract.
A season ago the Rutgers grad had 103 tackles and two interceptions.
He is a former sixth-round pick who has blossomed into a steal for the Titans. His twin brother, Devin, plays for the New England Patriots and was a teammate of Jason's at Rutgers.
