Atlanta Falcons offensive tackle Will Svitek has been placed on the team's injured reserve and the team has cut their roster down to 75 men, as reported by the franchise's official website.
Svitek, a six-year NFL veteran who started ten games for Atlanta at left tackle, will miss the 2012-13 season due to a an upper arm injury sustained in practice, the details of which are not yet available. This means that Sam Baker will undoubtedly see the lion's share of work at that position unless Atlanta can pick up a serviceable left tackle as Baker's backup over the next few weeks.
Notable cuts include tight end Chase Coffman, kicker Erik Folk, and defensive end Louis Nzegwu.
By Aug. 31, the Falcons will again cut their roster, this time to the final 53 players, as per NFL regulations.
