Rams Vs. Cowboys Game Recap: Dallas Holds On Against St. Louis, 20-19

The Dallas Cowboys edged the St. Louis Rams 20-19 in the third preseason game, with the Cowboys starters dominating the Rams in the first half.

Questions hovered over the heads of the Cowboys offense on Saturday, as multiple starters sat out of the traditional "dress rehearsal" game, including wide receivers Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. Just 15 minutes into the game, it appeared that many of those questions were answered and a standout option for the third receiver was revealed.

Tony Romo and second-year receiver Dwayne Harris combined for two touchdowns of 61 and 38 yards in the first quarter, giving the Cowboys a 17-3 lead. So dominant was the play of the first-team offense that many starters were pulled heading into the second quarter, with Kyle Orton taking over under center.

Sam Bradford and the first-team offense for the Rams would struggle against the Cowboys defense, with the third-year quarterback just 6-of-17 for 64 yards in the first half. The Rams threatened in the second quarter but Cowboys cornerback Mo Claiborne broke up a Bradford pass on 4th and goal from the 5-yard line.

The backups for the Rams would fight back with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, an Austin Pettis two-yard reception from Kellen Clemens and a Chase Reynolds four-yard run with time winding down in the fourth quarter.
