Tarvaris Jackson has reached a contract agreement w/Bills, which will complete the trade with Seattle. Can make up to $3 million this year.— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) August 27, 2012
Jackson was set to earn $4 million with the Seahawks, but was reportedly open to tweaking his salary if he found another team to play for. After a position battle in Seattle left Jackson the likely third-stringer, Jackson will now be the backup should anything happen to Fitzpatrick.
This is awful news for Vince Young: with Jackson potentially earning $3 million, the Bills likely won't want to pay Young a $1.25 million bonus for making the roster, especially since he'll be a third-stringer. So Jackson will take Young's spot on the depth chart as well as the money the team was slated to pay Young.
