The New Orleans Saints will retain only two quarterbacks on their roster as they cut the roster down to 75 players. Quarterback Luke McCown was released from the team. Defensive tackle Remi Ayodele was also cut from the team after working mainly with the third team in training camp.
Ayodele had spent three seasons with the Saints from 2008 until 2010, before he signed with the Minnesota Vikings before the 2011 season. Ayodele re-signed with the Saints in May after being released by the Vikings.
Other players that were cut from the Saints roster include wide receivers Marques Clark, Kevin Hardy and Derek Moye, offensive linemen Hutch Eckerson, Paul Fenaroli and Brian Folkerts, cornerbacks Kamaal McIlwain and Cord Parks, tight end Jake Byrne, defensive tackle Swanson Miller, defensive end Donavan Robinson and safety Johnny Thomas.
