NFL training camps are rolling along. Here is how to follow all of the action from practice through the preseason.
Where were you Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern? Probably working, taking the kids shopping for school supplies or otherwise engaged in the banalities of daily life. More significant about that moment in time is that on Thursday morning the New York Jets showed the world Tim Tebow working in the wildcat offense.
Most of us were not there for that insignificant moment in history, but it is burned into our minds thanks to an endless stream of urgent tweets emanating from the scene of an otherwise regular day at training camp.
Not so long ago, training camp was shrouded in mystery, hidden away from the public eye like a glimpse inside the locker room. These days fans not only get a more detailed look at the happenings on the practice field, they experience it. I sort of mocked the idea of comparing the Jets' wildcat offense to witnessing man land on the moon, but when we see it in a game, we can knowingly reach back to its origin and have a better understanding of what we're seeing on the field.
Taking it one step further, the people who are not on the scene at practice can talk to the people who are, digging further into the details of the scene on the field.
Maybe second-by-second coverage of Tim Tebow is not your thing, but it is a reminder that the days of passively watching games have been replaced by an immersion in the sport itself.
In order to enhance your fan experience for training camp, SB Nation's NFL bloggers complied a list of absolute must-follow folks on Twitter, including beat writers and bloggers from your favorite team. Have a look, give these people a follow and join the discussion.
