St. Louis Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers was helped off the field with an ankle injury late in the first quarter of his team's final preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. Brockers took what looked to be a chop block on the play that injured his right ankle.
The Rams' training staff and even head coach Jeff Fisher came onto the field to check on the rookie. He was assisted off the field and onto the sidelines for further examination after the play. Brockers was listed as questionable to return to the game.
Brockers was the Rams' first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He was selected 14th overall after the Rams traded down in the draft with the Dallas Cowboys for the sixth pick. He has been a starting defensive tackle since spring practices this year, and the Rams are counting on him heavily to improve a run defense that struggled in 2011.
