Courtney Upshaw reinjured his nagging shoulder, bringing his status for next Sunday's season opener into question.
The Ravens had hoped rookie Courtney Upshaw could contribute to their rotation at linebacker, but his ability to play could be in question after reinjuring Thursday night against St. Louis a shoulder injury that nagged him throughout camp.
The 35th overall pick had sprained his right shoulder earlier in camp, and hurt it again in the second quarter of the preseason loss, leaving his status in doubt for the team's regular season opener. John Harbaugh was not optimistic:
"Yeah, I’m concerned," Harbaugh said. "We’ll find out tomorrow with an MRI what it is."
With Terrell Suggs out, Upshaw was competing with Albert McClellan for a starting outside linebacker slot and seemed likely to garner a decent amount of playing time throughout the season. The Alabama product seemed a perfect fit for Baltimore's vaunted linebacker corps, but only recorded three tackles in three preseason games.
