According to Adam Caplan, the Philadelphia Eagles will release veteran cornerback Joselio Hanson.
This comes as something of a surprise to the media and fans. In Bleeding Green Nation's most recent 53-man roster projection for the Eagles, Hanson was a consensus pick to make the cut.
Hanson played in all 16 games for the Eagles last season, and has played in 93 since 2006. During that time he's racked up four interceptions and 2.5 sacks.
The undrafted defensive back began his career in San Francisco, but played in only 13 games with them before eventually signing with Philadelphia.
Ian Rapoport is also reporting that wide receiver Mardy Gilyard has been released by the Eagles. Gilyard was drafted in the fourth round by the St. Louis Rams, playing 11 games for them in 2010.
