The San Diego Chargers have announced the 22 roster cuts made on Friday to bring the team down to the 53-man roster limit.

The Chargers cut a couple members of their backfield, running back Edwin Baker and the captain of the special teams Jacob Hester. That means the backfield will consist of Ronnie Brown, Le'Ron McClain, Jackie Battle and Curtis Brinkley until Ryan Mathews comes back from injury.

The other players released are Mario Henderson, Anthony Davis, Jacques Cesaire, Colin Baxter, Bront Bird, Charlie Bryant, Ricky Elmore, Darryl Gamble, Greg Gatson, Logan Harrell, Arthur Hobbs, Robert Malone, DeAndre Presley, Damik SCafe, Steve Schilling, Kory Sperry, Mike Willie, Sean Cattouse and Nick Novak.

Novak filled in for the injured Nate Kaeding last year, but Kaeding returned from injury with a strong preseason and training camp.
