Free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens worked out for the Seattle Seahawks on Monday and reports from training camp say he was "very impressive" in his workout. ESPN's Mike Sando reports Owens ran the 40-yard dash in under 4.5 seconds, which is impressive (if true) considering Owens is 38 years old.
Owens has been out of the NFL since the 2010 when he last played for the Cincinnati Bengals. After that season, he tore his ACL workout and has not returned to the NFL since, sitting out the 2011 season.
We all know T.O. is a physical freak which is the reason his workout is notable. It wouldn't be crazy if the Seahawks, who signed and cut Antonio Bryant in the last week, made a run at signing him. Surely Owens is available with little to no interest coming elsewhere. If anything, Owens could replace Antonio Bryant as the washed-up receiver at camp.
Despite the solid workout, Owens' age and being out of the game for over a year has me thinking he won't make much of an impact anywhere he goes in 2012.
