Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson left practice on Tuesday in an ambulance after a helmet-to-helmet hit.

The Oakland Raiders got a scare in practice Tuesday afternoon when running back Mike Goodson left the field on a stretcher and in an ambulance after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from teammate Philip Wheeler.

Levi Damien of Silver And Black Pride describes the scene:

The team brought out a flat board as they would with any head, neck, or back injury and removed his facemask. Goodson began moving his legs and hands to show that there was no serious damage. But all the proper precautions were still made.

Given the nature of the injury, it's a very good sign he was able to move his legs and hands. Goodson was drafted out of Texas A&M by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL draft, but he was traded to the Raiders this offseason in exchange for offensive lineman Bruce Campbell. By all accounts, Goodson has had a very good training camp for the Raiders thus far.
