Few NFL teams want to hear their player is visiting the famed Dr. James Andrews because it means something is wrong. That's the position the Cleveland Browns find themselves in on Wednesday as running back Trent Richardson is scheduled to visit Dr. Andrews for a bothersome knee.
Richardson missed Tuesday's practice and was spotted with a sleeve on his knee. The Browns aren't giving much information on the injury but a source tells Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland that the injury is "not a big deal."
Still, Richardson is making a visit to Dr. Andrews to ensure that nothing is wrong. He had surgery on the same knee back in February for a torn meniscus. It's unclear if that is related to this injury.
As of now, Richardson has not been ruled out of the Browns preseason opener against the Detroit Lions on Friday night, but it's looking less likely he'll be available for that game.
