Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing returned to the team's facility on Thursday, just one day after spending time in the hospital with an illness. Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said that Cushing was back with the team early on Thursday, a quick bounce-back after going to the hospital late Tuesday night.
Kubiak said Cushing was feeling much better and was expected to be a part of team meetings on Thursday night. He may also play in Houston's first preseason game on Saturday. The Texans head coach said there's a good chance the two-time All-Pro will be ready, according to HoustonTexans.com:
"Yeah, I think there's a good chance. Obviously, I'm going to know that he's himself. I like to see him go out there and get his reps with the group. I think tomorrow's a big day. We know he's doing well right now. He'll be a part of the process, as I said. We'll be in here early tomorrow morning. All indications are that he will."
The Texans will travel to Charlotte to face the Carolina Panthers in their first preseason game on Saturday night.
