A 48-28 victory to start the New York Jets' 2012 campaign was certainly a strong statement to make considering the media circus surrounding the team leading into the season. Their convincing victory over the Buffalo Bills was an eye opener to what the Jets could achieve, and the guys over at Gang Green Nation were pleased with what they saw.
We worried about scoring, well 48 points later a lot of doubters will be keeping relatively quiet this evening. The first thing that I'm going to mention is Mark Sanchez ... He looked composed under pressure (Consider that he was statistically the worst QB in the league last year under duress) he set his feet, he made his reads....this is the Mark Sanchez we need to see each week!
The 28 points surrendered by the defense were a bit of sticking point, especially because of the job Bills running back C.J. Spiller did on the Jets defense.
It is a little concerning but there were some missed tackles that allowed Spiller to gain some extra yards, those kinds of tackles are usually made by players like Scott and Landry.
