49ers Vs. Packers, Week 1: Niners Nation Ecstatic With SF Victory

The San Francisco 49ers pulled off the most impressive victory of Week 1 by totally shutting down the Green Bay Packers for most of three quarters. It was a huge road win that really catapults San Francisco back to the forefront of primary Super Bowl contenders, as they kept Aaron Rodgers and the high-octane Packer defense in check.

David Fucillo of Niners Nation talked about the workmanlike nature of the new 49ers and how this game is all about business:

There is still a lot of football to be played. Bad things can still happen. But after one game, the business-like approach seems evident. The team got hosed by some bad calls (and benefited from some bad calls), but while Harbaugh made sure the refs knew he was unhappy, the players never really seemed to let it visibly get under their skin. That's the kind of business-like approach that yields results.

The 49ers are coming off an outstanding 13-3 season that they felt came up one unlucky loss short of the Super Bowl. San Francisco really seemed to be all business in this game, and it showed in their methodical performance in all facets of the game. Not one part of their performance was brilliant, but it was definitely effective, and the result was a 49er victory.
