David Nelson could miss extended time due to a right knee injury.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver David Nelson may miss an extended period of time after sustaining an injury to his right knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday's regular-season opener against the New York Jets. Nelson was able to walk off the field under his own power, but reportedly required a golf cart to be transported from the locker room to the bus area.

The team is worried that he may have torn his ACL, according to reports. Head coach Chan Gailey was pessimistic about the injury when he addressed the media post-game.

Via Buffalonews.com:

"Fred [Davis] doesn't look as bad as David," Bills coach Chan Gailey said. "We don't know how bad David is, but it doesn't look good right now."

The third-year receiver will undergo an MRI and will be re-evaluated on Monday. Nelson finished the game with two receptions for 31 yards.
