Stay connected with SB Nation

The injury news for the Buffalo Bills got even worse on Monday afternoon when is was reported that David Nelson had torn the ACL in his right knee and would miss the rest of the season.

After it was reported that Nelson would undergo an MRI Monday to diagnose the injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted the news on Monday afternoon.

Nelson, the Bills' second-leading receiver last season, injured himself in the fourth quarter while making a cut away from the ball. Even though he left the field under his own power, BuffaloNews.com reported that Nelson was moved from the locker room to the team bus in a cart.

Nelson, a third-year pro out of Florida, had two catches for 31 yards before leaving the season opener. It was a rough day for the Bills as they not only lost 48-28, but running back Fred Jackson also left the game with a right knee injury.
