With Jacoby Ford already possibly headed to the injured reserve with a foot injury, the Raiders will also be down a starting cornerback for a while as Ron Bartell broke his left shoulder blade during the first quarter of his premiere as a member of the Raiders, according to ESPN's Bill Williamson.
The good news for the Raiders is that it's an injury that doesn't require surgery and will most likely not require the cornerback to head to injured reserve. Per Williamson, his recovery time could be fewer than six weeks and there is optimism within the Raiders organization that Bartell will be back in four.
Bartell is in his first season with the Raiders after signing a one-year deal with the team in March. Prior to joining the Raiders, Bartell had spent his entire career with the Rams after being drafted by the team in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
