Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin will not be participating in practice on Wednesday due to a hip injury, according to head coach Andy Reid. Maclin sustained the injury in the season opener against the Cleveland Browns.
After requiring medical attention on two separate occasions on a single drive, the 24-year-old receiver had to return to the team's locker room. Despite the injury, Maclin was able to finish the game and recorded game-highs in almost every receiving category compiling seven receptions for 96 yards and one touchdown.
As of this time, Maclin's status for Sunday's home opener against the Baltimore Ravens is unknown as Reid has stated that the receiver is still sore. In the event that Maclin is unable to play, the Eagles recently-signed free-agent receiver Mardy Gilyard who would presumably dress in his place.
