Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not participate in Wednesday's practice because of a foot injury, though the wide receiver appears to be "fine," according to media members present at Detroit's practice.
Johnson appeared to be healthy in Week 1, playing the entire game against the St. Louis Rams, while hauling in six receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. Johnson's absence from practice and subsequent placement on the injury report are likely precautionary moves.
"Injury report. You know me," head coach Jim Schwartz said after practice Wednesday when asked about Johnson's absence from practice.
Since the injury doesn't appear to be serious, Johnson will probably participate in practices later this week, though that's far from a certainty.
Still, all signs indicate Johnson will start and play in Week 2, when the Detroit Lions visit the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
