New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will not be playing in the team's Week 2 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to the lingering effects of a concussion, according to head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan had previously stated that Revis was not going to play in the game if he was not 100 percent, which appears to be the case.
He is believed to have suffered in the injury in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.
Revis said on Thursday that he had experienced head aches that made him feel like he was in a fog but stated he was feeling better. The All-Pro corner was even cleared for physical activity on Wednesday and participated in strecthing drills with his teammates in addition to working out on the excercise bike.
Despite his progress, Revis has yet to be cleared for practice and stated that he was going to allow the medical staff to determine his status for Sunday.
