The Houston Texans look to build on their impressive start as they head east to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
The Houston Texans will travel east in Week 2 to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The Texans look to claim their second consecutive victory over a Florida foe to begin the season, while the Jaguars hope to bounce back from a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Houston enters the game as an 8.5-point favorite after easily dispatching the Miami Dolphins last Sunday, 30-10, behind a solid defense that forced four turnovers. The running game was Houston's only real weakness in Week 1, as star running back Arian Foster averaged just three yards per carry. Quarterback Matt Schaub, however, threw for 266 yards and a score after receiving a contract extension earlier in the week.
The Jaguars, meanwhile, were agonizingly close to getting out of Minneapolis with a win last Sunday, as sophomore quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts III with just 20 seconds remaining in the game. However, the Vikings kicked a last-second 55-yard field goal to tie the game at the end of regulation, and won the game with another field goal in overtime. Gabbert looked much improved from last season, as he threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.
Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. ET, and the game can be seen on CBS. For a detailed coverage map, click here.
