Eric Wright Injury: Tampa Bay CB Out With Back Injury

Stay connected with SB Nation

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright was forced out of Sunday's game with a lower back injury. His return is being called questionable at this point in time.

It's unclear when he suffered the ailment but it's possible his back just acted up as he was bothered by back issues throughout the preseason.

Wright had a highlight reel 60-yard pick-six off of Eli Manning at the end of the first half. Wright is being replaced by Brandon McDonald, who also has a Manning interception of his own on the day.

The Bucs had a comfortable lead but a Josh Freeman interception at the end of the third has given the Giants the ball back down 27-16. With Wright out, Manning might have some more opportunities. Then again, with how solid the Tampa Bay secondary has been as a whole, it's possible that he might just continue throwing interceptions.
