Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo left the field during Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams after suffering an injury to his arm and shoulder area. Orakpo walked to the sideline and threw off his helmet in frustration after sacking Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.
Orakpo was seen with his shoulder pads off, sitting on the sideline as he was being attended to by the team's training staff. The fourth-year player out of Texas has missed just one game in his NFL career up to this point. He has 28.5 sacks out of his pash-rushing linebacker position since coming to the Redskins.
The Redskins are currently on top of the Rams, 7-3, in the first quarter of play at the Edward Jones Dome.
UPDATE: Orakpo has returned to the game.
[Note by Ryan Van Bibber, 09/16/12 5:05 PM EDT ] And then he was out again. It's a shoulder injury, and his return is being called questionable.
Redskins calling Orakpo's injury a shoulder strain. Say his return is questionable.
