It has been a rough day for backs in Pittsburgh. Firstly, Shonn Greene went down to a head injury, only to return at the start of the second half. Now, fullback John Connor has left the field with a right knee injury following a kickoff.
While we don't have an update on what his condition in, Connor had been nursing an MCL injury this week, and it's possible this further exacerbated the injury. Without a lead blocker the life for Jets' backs Green and Bilal Powell becomes decidedly more difficult on a day where they're already struggling to run the football.
The game is now more in the hands of QB Mark Sanchez than ever, and so far today the offensive line has been struggling to give him a clean pocket. Couple this with wide receivers who haven't gotten enough separation, and it's been a long day for an offense that looked to potent last week.
