Redskins Vs. Rams Game Recap: St. Louis Wins Shootout, 31-28

In a back-and-forth game that saw multiple lead changes, the St. Louis Rams rallied for a 31-28 victory over the Washington Redskins at the Edward Jones Dome on Sunday. The Redskins took a 14-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 21-16 lead into halftime. But St. Louis rallied in the second half, outscoring Washington 15-7.

Sam Bradford had a big day at quarterback for the Rams. Bradford completed 26 of 35 passes for 310 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. His one-yard toss to Matthew Mulligan with 14:55 left in the fourth quarter gave St. Louis the lead for good. Danny Amendola had a monster day receiving. He caught 15 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. Daryl Richardson led St. Louis in rushing, gaining 83 yards on 15 carries.

Robert Griffin III had a pedestrian performance. He completed 20 of 29 passes, but he threw for a mediocre 206 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Griffin was much more dangerous on the ground. He rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries.

Rams starting running back Steven Jackson was benched after receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty late in the first half. Jackson was stopped just short of the goal line and spiked the ball out of frustration, drawing the foul.

Fantasy Studs/Duds

Anyone that started Amendola has to be pleased. He fumbled once, but with those great numbers, who cares? Bradford had a solid day at quarterback and showed why he can be one of the league's elite signal callers.

With his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, Jackson let his team and his fantasy owners down. Jackson rushed for 58 yards on nine carries and didn't find the end zone.

So, did they cover?

Nope. Washington entered the game favored between three and four points and lost by three. For more NFL odds, check out SB Nation's NFL odds page.

Injury Information

Both teams dealt with the injury bug on Sunday. Washington lost defensive end Adam Carriker and linebacker Brian Orakpo within the first six minutes in the game. Carriker suffered a knee injury, and Orakpo hurt his arm. In the third quarter, Josh Wilson went to the locker room injured.

The Rams lost offensive tackle Rodger Saffold to a knee injury. It marked the second week in a row that Saffold had to leave injured. Last week against Detroit, he was carted off with a neck injury.
