Titans Vs. Chargers Game Recap: Philip Rivers Efficient With Reserves In 38-10 Victory Over Tennessee

Philip Rivers got it done with a group of replacements Sunday afternoon, leading five touchdown drives in their 38-10 pounding of the Tennessee Titans. Rivers tossed three touchdowns to Antonio Gates' replacement, TE Dante Rosario, while reserve running back Jackie Battle added two touchdowns on the ground.

The Chargers set the tone early when they cruised down the field for a quick touchdown on their opening drive. Two plays later, Titans QB Jake Locker put them right back in scoring position with a fade-away interception to Eric Weddle on his first attempt of the game.

From there, it was all downhill for Tennessee, with the Chargers putting up 17 unanswered points before Rob Bironas could sink a field goal from 23 yards out.

With a revamped San Diego defense harrassing Locker all day, the second-year quarterback was only able to complete 50% of his passes (15-of-30) for 174 yards. Running for his life for most of the game, he was only able to find pay dirt once with a 15-yard touchdown strike to WR Kendall Wright -- when the game had been all but decided.

Battle would then go onto chip in his two garbage-time touchdowns in the fourth quarter to inflate San Diego's victory into the realm of the humiliating.

With the win, the Chargers move to 2-0 for the first time since 2006.

Fantasy Studs and Duds Those who started Philip Rivers were rewarded with three touchdowns and 284 yards to just one interception. Oh yes, and if you were somehow bold enough to give RB Jackie Battle or TE Dante Rosario an audition, you are officially a fantasy magician (69 yards, two touchdowns and 48 yards, three touchdowns respectively).

But Did They Cover? The Chargers covered comfortably as seven-point favorites.

Injury Info: There may be a few minor bumps and bruises but nothing major to report here.

What's up Next? The Chargers will be staying at Qualcomm to take on the Atlanta Falcons while the Titans head back home to take on the Detroit Lions.
