A surprising loss to the Carolina Panthers left a sore taste in the mouths of New Orleans Saints fans, who had to taken in a second straight loss to open the 2012 season.
Over at Canal Street Chronicles, a sense of déjà vu was the prevailing sentiment, following a similar loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 1.
The Saints played poorly for the second straight week, losing to the Carolina Panthers 35-27 in a game that looked eerily similar to last weeks loss.
Some bright spots emerged on offense, but quarterback Drew Brees was not among those named in the blog's game recap.
The excellent play of Pierre Thomas (143 total yards) andDarren Sproles (128 rec.) were the only bright spots for the Saints on offense.
Most notably, the defense bore much of the blame in the eyes of the bloggers. Much of the defense was called out as being out of position and simply not ready for the Panther attack.
Unfortunately, there were no such positives to take away from the Saints defense. They were out of position and abused all day, giving up a total of 463 yards including 219 on the ground. A pass rush was virtually non-existent, with the only sack of the day coming from Cam Jordan early in the game.
