Cowboys Vs. Seahawks, Week 2: Overpowering Defense, Run Game Highlight Seattle's 27-7 Victory

The Seattle Seahawks rebounded nicely from last week's 20-16 heartbreaking loss to the Cardinals, dominating the Dallas Cowboys in all aspects of the game en route to a 27-7 home victory. With Marshawn Lynch (122 yards, one touchdown) anchoring a bruising ground attack, Seattle was able to efficiently run out the clock after securing a solid second half lead.

The fine gentlemen over at Field Gulls were obviously quite satisfied with the results but that didn't stop editor Danny Kelly from being a bit critical of Russell Wilson's game managing skills. Still, Kelly was pleased overall with what the rookie quarterback brought to the table in the first victory of his NFL career:

"There were some very shaky moments, especially early on ... but Wilson played much more efficiently in the 2nd half. It's encouraging that in his first two NFL starts, Wilson improved as the games have gone on, but that said, he still left a lot of throws on the field and certainly looked like a rookie at times."

Kelly also had some good things to say about the Seahawks defense after their disciplined and disruptive showing:

"...the Seahawks flew around, made big hits, and looked to simply wear down the Cowboys as the game went on...Tied with the Jags for lowest offensive output on the week, NFL-wide, were the typically high-octane offense of the Cowboys, who only managed seven points against an inspired Seahawks' defense. I'll take it - especially because I really do respect the Cowboys' talent - I like what they've done with their roster and think there's a solid chance this will be a playoff team."

The Seahawks will look to build on this momentum when they face off against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football next week.
