Brian Orakpo Injury: Redskins LB Expected To Miss At Least 1 Game

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Washington Redskins are expected to be without linebacker Brian Orakpo for at least one week after he aggravated a left pectoral injury in Sunday's 31-28 loss against the St. Louis Rams.

Orakpo left the game after sacking Rams' quarterback Sam Bradford and was seen on the sidelines without his shoulder pads. Orakpo returned to the game shortly but then left for good. The pectoral has been a problem for Orakpo before, forcing him to have surgery earlier this year.

The Redskins are expected to keep the fourth-year pro out in an attempt to prevent any further aggravation of the injury. Redskins' coach mike Shanahan is expected to address the media at 3 p.m. ET and provide further information on his injury status. The pass-rushing linebacker is set to miss at least one game, counting him out of the Redskins' home opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 23.
