Hakeem Nicks, Calais Campbell and Tim Masthay have been named NFC Players of the week for week two of the NFL season.
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell and Green Bay Packers punter Tim Masthay have all been named NFC Players of the week for their performances in week two of the NFL season.
Nicks caught 10 balls for 199 yards and a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, becoming the first Giants wideout to win the award since Plaxico Burress took home the title in week four of the 2005 season. Nicks also broke his previous record of 165 receiving yards in a single game on Sunday as well.
As for Campbell, he recorded 10 tackles and two sacks in the Cardinals' 20-18 win over the Patriots at Foxboro. It marked the first home opening loss the Patriots have had in the 10 year history of Gillette Stadium.
Packers punter Tim Masthay had five punts against the Bears on Thursday for a net average of 42 yards. He also managed to pin three inside the 20-yard line. Masthay limited Bears kick returner Devin Hester to only two returns for eight yards on the night.
