Hakeem Nicks has been ruled out for Thursday night's game.
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has been downgraded from questionable to out for Thursday night's game against the Carolina Panthers, according to the Giants' official twitter account. Nicks did not make the trip with the team to Carolina.
The 24-year-old is coming off a performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he recorded 10 catches for 199 yards and one touchdown, which earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
However, during the course of the game Nicks went down and appeared to be injured on two separate occasions, which raised questions about the status of his surgically repaired right foot. Following the game, Nicks stated he felt good.
Via ESPN New York:
"It's good," Nicks said. "It's pretty much what I expected after a long game, a big game like this."
