New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis proclaimed to the New York media after practice Thursday, "I am playing Sunday," ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini is reporting. Revis' personal update came after the All-Pro defensive back was cleared by doctors to participate in full-contract drills in practice, which is a solid sign that he will make his return this week against the Miami Dolphins (1 p.m. ET on CBS).
Revis missed last week's 27-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a concussion, which he suffered during Week 1's contest against the Buffalo Bills. If Revis does return, it will be a boost to the Jets defense that allowed Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to complete 24 of 31 passes for 275 yards and two second-half touchdowns.
In Week 1, Revis was able to shutdown Buffalo Bills No. 1 wide receiver Stevie Johnson, who compiled just four catches for 55 yards, in a dominating 48-28 Jets victory. In that game, Revis recorded an interception, three pass deflects and five tackles, one for a loss.
