The Dallas Cowboys have taken a major hit on defense. Safety Barry Church suffered an Achilles injury during the Cowboys' 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and is likely out for the season.
Cowboys starting safety Barry Church says he's likely out for the season. Either fully torn or partially torn Achilles. "A heart-breaker."

The loss of Church is a blow to the Cowboys defense, which ranked ninth in the NFL in yards allowed and 14th in points allowed entering Sunday's games. Dallas is giving up 292 yards and 22 points per contest.
Mana Silva replaced Church against the Bucs and committed a pass interference penalty on his second play. The Cowboys currently have two other safeties on the roster: Gerald Sensabaugh and Danny McCray. Sensabaugh sat out Sunday's game with a right calf strain.
