Fred Jackson Injury: Bills RB Will Practice This Week

Stay connected with SB Nation

Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson is expected to return to practice at some point this week, according to head coach Chan Gailey. Jackson is still recovering from the LCL sprain he suffered in Week 1 against the New York Jets and should return to the practice field either Wednesday or Thursday.

Jackson was projected to miss any where from three to eight weeks while recovering from the injury. According to Gailey, Jackson's recovery has been amazing, which has put him ahead of schedule. However, the coach wouldn't begin speculating whether the back would be able to play against the New England Patriots in Week 4. With C.J. Spiller expected to sit out Sunday as well, Tashard Choice would take over the role as starter.

Via the Bills' official website:

"Tashard Choice is a pretty good back," said Gailey. "I have no qualms about running with him"
