Trent Williams Injury: Bone Bruise In Right Knee

Stay connected with SB Nation

The knee injury that Washington Redskins right tackle Trent Williams suffered in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals is reportedly just a bone bruise according to a report.

Mike Jones, the Redskins' beat writer for The Washington Post, tweeted that:

"Source says Trent Williams has only a bone bruise in his right knee."

Williams was injured on the second offensive play in the Redskins' 38-31 loss to the Bengals. He was blocking a defender when he went to the ground and had to be attended to by trainers before limping off the field. The offensive lineman tried to return to the game multiple times, but continued to have trouble and eventually stayed out of the game in the third quarter.

The Redskins, looking to bounce back from consecutive losses, face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Sept. 30 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
