Plaxico Burress may not be playing right now, but he wants another shot in the NFL.
The Super Bowl champion isn't sure why he hasn't gotten another opportunity, since he was a very viable red zone target in 2011 with the New York Jets. When asked if he's surprised he isn't on a team, Burress was very honest, according to sportsradiointerviews.com.
"I walk out of my house and I can’t even make it to my mailbox. That’s the first question I get asked before I make it to my mail. … We talk with teams daily about guys who are injured or not producing and things like that. I guess I’ve just got to wait my time. . . . I’m just going to sit and wait for my opportunity to come."
While the wide receiver would certainly like a nice landing spot if he's afforded another chance to play football, Burress says he wouldn't be picky.
"You get to a point now where it’s almost the first month of the season is almost gone. When the opportunity comes, wherever I can go and have an impact and contribute. … Whoever that may be, they’re going to get a supreme talent and a guy that can go out and perform."
With injuries mounting this time of year, you never know what team that might be.
