Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Denver Broncos opened up as 5.5 point favorites at home vs. the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

One of the AFC West's most heated rivalries in its history will feature a matchup of 1-2 teams, the home favorite Denver Broncos and the visiting Oakland Raiders. The Broncos opened up the betting lines as 5.5-point favorites and are projected to defeat the Raiders at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday.

Oakland signal caller Carson Palmer will look to move the ball down the field via the passing attack. Oakland has averaged 283.7 passing yards per game. Peyton Manning was shaky in his last start vs. the Houston Texans, and will look to bounce back against a Raiders defense that's ranked 23rd in the NFL. The over-under for the contest was initially set at 47.5, but several sportsbooks have it as high as 49.

The game figures to feature a prominent aerial attack on both sides as the rushing yards have been hard to come by for each team. Oakland has averaged a paltry 62.3 rushing yards per game while Denver hasn't been much better with 90.3.

The forecast for the game is 55 degrees with light rain and a threat of accompanying thunderstorms.
