Kansas City has dominated the Chargers at home dating back to the late 1990s. Does that historical trend theory hold any water in Week 4 betting?
Two division rivals will duke it out in an important battle for early AFC West supremacy when the San Diego Chargers visit the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday.

And if history is a good teacher, students will go to the sportsbook window and put their money on the Chiefs.
In 14 meetings at Kansas City, the Chargers are just 3-10-1 ATS, according to the matchup report at OddsShark.com. [ Get Twitter updates on line moves and injury updates ]
After getting off to a sharp 2-0 SU and ATS start, the wheels fell off for the San Diego Chargers in a 27-3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons last week. The Chargers turned the ball over four times and couldn't get anything going on the ground or in the passing game.
Was this game just a fluky bad one, or were soft opponents in Oakland and Tennessee masking the Chargers' issues? We'll learn more in the coming weeks.
Down 24-6 with under six minutes to go in the third quarter at New Orleans, Kansas City looked poised to fall to 0-3 both SU and ATS. But thanks in large part to Jamaal Charles' 233 rushing yards and a series of defensive stands, the Chiefs were able to score 21 unanswered points and win the game in overtime.
In the second half and overtime, Kansas City looked more like the team that won the AFC West in 2010 than the one that finished 7-9 in 2011.
This one is a pick'em for good reason; it is hard to get a feel for these two teams. It is quite possible that the Chargers looked better than they actually are during the first two weeks of the season, and that the Chiefs looked worse than they actually are. Or maybe it was last week that was the anomaly.
San Diego holds the straight up edge in this series at 7-3, but Kansas City is 6-4 ATS over those 10 games. Of course, the straight up and ATS winner will be the same team in this week's pick'em.
With two straight upset wins over San Diego at Arrowhead over the last two years and a lot of momentum coming into this game, we like the home team by the narrowest of margins.
