Chargers are coming off an ugly home loss to the Falcons while the Chiefs are riding a come-from-behind victory over the Saints heading into their Sunday matchup.
With both teams coming off reversals of their first two weeks' fortunes, the Kansas City Chiefs will welcome the San Diego Chargers to Arrowhead Stadium in the first meeting between the two AFC West rivals.
The Chiefs are coming off their first win of the season after a 0-2 start while the Chargers are recovering from a beating taken at home courtesy of the Atlanta Falcons.
The Chiefs came from behind to knock off the New Orleans Saints in their building, 27-24, behind a career performance by running back Jamaal Charles. Charles finished with 233 yards rushing on 33 carries.
Nothing good came out of the Chargers' 27-3 loss to the Falcons, ruining the return of running back Ryan Mathews from a collarbone injury that he suffered on his first carry of the preseason.
The Chiefs are dealing with injuries as starting center Rodney Hudson broke a bone in his leg on Sunday and was put on injured reserve. Dexter McCluster has an elbow injury and tight end Kevin Boss (head) and running back Peyton Hillis (ankle) have not practiced this week.
The Chargers have won seven of the last nine games against the Chiefs but their two losses came in their past two visits to Arrowhead.
