It took a while, but this is the goofiest play of the day thus far.
In the open field Demaryius Thomas is almost unstoppable. Gifted with amazing size and speed, he's almost impossible to stop when a much smaller defensive back is trying to make a play. There's only one thing that can stop Demaryius Thomas, and his name is Demaryius Thomas.

He was off to the races, and sure there was a cornerback closing in, but it would have been a huge gain. Then as Thomas chose to make the heady move to protect the ball by switching hands, he bobbled it, dropped it onto his knee, and caused the fumble that was recovered by the Oakland.
