SB Nation's Cowboys blog, Blogging The Boys, talked about Wednesday night's season opener against the Giants in this Q&A.

The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys in the 2012 NFL kickoff game on at 8:30 p.m. ET Wednesday. The game will be televised on NBC.

SB Nation's NFL bloggers took part in a Q&A ahead of the game. Here's what our Cowboys blog, Blogging The Boys, had to say:

Where do the Giants have the edge over the Cowboys?

Two areas that should concern the Cowboys are the Giants' defensive line against the Cowboys' offensive line, and the Cowboys' safeties in deep coverage. Dallas still has issues along the line, especially in the interior, and the Giants have quality along their defensive line, so this could be an problem for the Cowboys. Also, until proven otherwise, the Cowboys' safety play in coverage could be a target for Eli Manning and his receivers.

Where do the Cowboys have the edge over the Giants?

The Cowboys' passing game against a suspect Giants secondary, and the Cowboys' speed rush against the Giants' offensive line, especially out wide. If Dallas can protect Romo, it can take advantage of the Giants' secondary. And DeMarcus Ware should be able to generate pressure from the outside. If he can get help from Anthony Spencer or Victor Butler, they could do damage.

Which rookie will make the biggest impact?

Morris Claiborne. If he can come in and play like a veteran, that will go a long way toward shoring up a Cowboys' secondary that was shredded by Manning last year. Brandon Carr was signed in the offseason to shut down one side of the field, Claiborne needs to do the same on the other side for the Cowboys' defense to function how it would like to in Rob Ryan's scheme.

Will there be changes in Dallas without a deep playoff run? What kind of changes?

Impossible to say, each season has its own story lines that go with it, and those affect what the mood is going into the next offseason. Right now, it's impossible to speculate intelligently about what will happen without having the season play out.

What are the differences between Eli Manning and Tony Romo?

You mean besides winning Super Bowls? Statistically, they weren't that far apart in 2011. Both of them have had issues with turnovers in their careers. So does Eli have some magic that helps him elevate his team to the playoffs that Romo doesn't possess? Now you're delving into the subjective. Both are excellent quarterbacks, Manning has proven success on the highest level, Romo hasn't. That's the difference.

Your prediction on the game.

As a Cowboys fan, I refuse to go into the season on a pessimistic note. The Cowboys are certainly capable of beating any team in the league, and they have some revenge motivation after the Giants' wins over them last year cost Dallas the NFC East. Every season hope springs eternal, so the Cowboys pull off the upset, 31-28.
