The Atlanta Falcons are a slight field goal favorite over the Kansas City Chiefs for Week 1 of the NFL regular season.

The Atlanta Falcons are slight favorites over the Kansas City Chiefs going into Sunday's matchup at Arrowhead. Atlanta opened up as one point favorites, but the line has moved up over the course of the week, with the lines settling in around 2.5 to three points depending on which sportsbook you look at.

The Falcons are coming off their third playoff appearances in four years, but they again struggled to compete in their postseason appearance. They're expected to compete in the NFC South, but they will be facing some stiff competition from the Saints, Panthers, and the Buccaneers to get back to the playoffs.

Their opening matchup in Kansas City won't be easy. The Chiefs have a pretty strong home-field advantage when they're good, and they have the potential to do good things this season if they get a healthy run attack from Peyton Hillis and Jamaal Charles. With a division that could be up for grabs, Kansas City has as good a chance at any. It makes sense that this game is a bit of a toss-up.
