The Miami Dolphins visit the Houston Texans in Week 1 of the NFL season, and it's already looking like this might be one of the more lopsided picks of the year. The Texans are the favorite, and it's hard to see this game going any other way.
In their short existence, the Texans are 7-0 against the Dolphins, who visit under first-year head coach Joe Philbin. Miami's starting rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill will debut against a defense known for its intimidating presence up front, and unlike the end of last season, the Texans are healthy and loaded on the offensive side of the ball.
So it's no shock that the predictions across the internet favor Houston. SB Nation NFL editor Joel Thorman gives the Dolphins little chance to win considering the betting lines have pretty much doubled since they first came out. He predicts a final score of 38-14.
Everyone loves the Texans? Or everyone hates the Dolphins?
Kinda think it's the latter.
All of 12 NFL pundits and two prediction formulas at ESPN give the nod to the Texans as well, though it should be noted that all 14 predicted the New York Giants would beat the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday. They didn't.
And over at Sports Illustrated, Peter King also sees this one being a laugher. He calls it the easier pick of the week and sees a final score of 30-9.
