Dolphins Vs. Texans, Week 1: Some Love For Owen Daniels

When Arian Foster, Andre Johnson and the strong Houston Texans defense are all perfoming as expected, the Texans are pretty tough to beat. That was evident in Sunday's throttling of rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the overmatched Miami Dolphins defense in Houston's 30-10 win.

SB Nation's Texans blog, Battle Red Blog, recognized the play of not only the aformentioned players and defensive unit, but some others as well.

It had some praise for tight end Owen Daniels:

Yesterday, Daniels picked up where he left off by catching four passes for 87 yards and four first downs. The 87 yards and four first down receptions were tops yesterday among tight ends, including even the vaunted (Rob) Gronkowski and (Jimmy) Graham.

The Texans got a number of good performances Sunday. And when offensive producers like Foster and Johnson are scoring touchdowns (they combined for three Sunday), it's a formula for success for Houston.

Texans Vs. Dolphins Game Recap: Houston Defeats Miami 30-10

The Houston Texans used a second-quarter offensive onslaught to defeat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, winning by a final score of 30-10.

Miami took a 3-0 lead after the first quarter, but Houston responded with 24 unanswered points to cruise to the victory. The Texans forced four Dolphins turnovers en route to the win.

The Big Winner: Andre Johnson

Eight receptions, 119 yards and a touchdown. Just another average performance from All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson, who put up highlight reel plays like this:

Ryan Tannehill Struggles

First-round pick Ryan Tannehill had a rough rookie debut, throwing three interceptions in Miami's loss. His final statline: an unimpressive 20-36 for 219 yards and zero touchdown passes. Better luck next week, rookie.

Arian Foster Is Really Good

Entering the regular season, the Texans were hoping to reduce Arian Foster's carries to preserve him for a possible playoff run. Through Week 1, that doesn't seem to be the case. He finished the day with 79 yards on 26 carries, with two touchdowns in the process. One of those scores is below for your viewing pleasure.

What's Next?

The Texans will travel to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars next Sunday, while the Dolphins will regroup and face off against the Oakland Raiders.

Arian Foster, Brooks Reed Active For The Texans

The Houston Texans will have star running back Arian Foster active and available on Sunday when they host the Miami Dolphins in their 2012 season opener. Via the Texans official team twitter feed:

Foster has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game, and was a game-time decision after a MRI on his left knee came back negative. Foster led the Texans in rushing last season with 1,224 yards and 10 touchdowns. Backup running back Ben Tate can still be expected to get some work against the Dolphins, as Foster and his gimpy knee will be eased back into action.

With a healthy Foster and a repeat performance from their defense, the Texans are expected to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders this season.
